We're preparing something big for the corporate bosses

We’re taking ACTION against ISDS and corporate impunity on 11-19 October

It’s summer and the sun is shining (mostly). But we have big news. We are busy planning
a big autumn wake up call for corporations!

Between 11-19 October we will be uniting a wide coalition of civil society, social movements and unions to oppose ISDS and corporate impunity on the streets of Europe.

Our demands will not just be changes to the system. It will be to flush away the scandal that is ISDS and the current system which allows corporations to get away with everything from climate change to destroying whole communities. And of course, it means saying no to CETA, the EU-Canada deal that includes ISDS and can still be stopped!

Our week of action will make it crystal clear to the corporate bosses and our political leadership. We don’t just want to change the system. We want to flush it away completely.

But to make it happen, we need YOU.

We need you to begin planning to take action in your local area. We need you to ask your friends, neighbours and family to sign the petition to end these corporate privileges. And please share the Call to Action far and wide. Alternatively, you can donate to help us make this autumn big.

Whatever you do, it will make a difference!

Thanks for your support

SAVE THE DATE: One week to FLUSH away ISDS & corporate impunity 11-19 Oct 2019

Do you think corporations have too much power in society?

Don’t you think it’s time we held them to account for the things they do wrong (and get away with)?

Do you think it is unfair that people across the world lack access to basic justice while the multinationals have their own separate system of courts (called ISDS) that are designed to serve their interests?

For us the answer to all three questions is a resounding – YES.

And we are going to do something about it.

Want to use cancer-inducing herbicide? Thank God we didn’t pass TTIP!

Great news from Austria for campaigners for a better food system. The Alpine nation has decided to move towards banning glyphosate – a potentially cancer-causing herbicide.

The company behind it has been engaged in a strong pushback campaign to keep the cancer-causing chemical on our shelves. But thanks to the fact that we didn’t pass TTIP – and therefore don’t have ISDS with the US – there are limits to what the company can do.

Had we signed up to TTIP, the company may have been able to claim that the ban was “indirect expropriation” and tried to win a huge payout.

CETA: it's not too late to stop the EU-Canada dodgy deal

We’ve been fighting this one for a while. CETA was first proposed back in 2009. It was later dubbed the “little sibling” of the more famous EU-US deal TTIP. It is pretty much just as bad as TTIP though as it also includes ISDS – the obscure system of ‘corporate courts’ that allows multinationals to sue countries for standing up for their citizens.

But the fight is still on. Many countries have not yet ratified. And it just takes one country to say no and the whole thing grind to a halt.
