The European Network of Corporate Observatories (ENCO) is pleased to invite you to a webinar on its new publication “The Corporate Silk Road”.

IMG AC 01 From Zeebrugge and Liège to the ports of Italy, Spain and France and to the Eastern part of the continent, Chinese corporations and the Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) are accelerating the development of infrastructure megacorridors, putting trade in front of people and planet.

Who are the Chinese corporations active in Europe and what is their business model ? How is the Belt & Road Initiative accelerating the drive for infrastructure megacorridors, in Europe and elsewhere, with negative consequences for workers’ rights and the environment ? How are European politicians and corporate players responding to the increased presence of Chinese capital ?

The webinar will feature short presentations by Sebastian Franco and Cedric Leterme (Gresea), Elena Gerebizza (Re:Common), Ioana Ciuta (CEE Bankwatch Romania), Olivier Petitjean (Observatoire des multinationales) and Felip Daza (Observatorio de Derechos Humanos y Empresas en el Mediterráneo), followed by a Q&A session.
