Tuesday 7th September 2021, 10h-11h30 (CET) Brussels time

The European Trade Union Institute (ETUI), the Austrian Chamber of Labour (AK EUROPA), the European Social Observatory (OSE) and ÖGB Europabüro are pleased to invite you to the webinar taking place on 7th September : The Recovery and Resilience Fund: have social actors been sidelined?

How and why did the European Semester end up as the main institutional vehicle of the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF)? To what extent did this new set-up change the power balance among key actors (e.g., financial and economic actors versus social affairs actors)? And, crucially, have social actors been sidelined in the context in the governance of the RRF?

This webinar will discuss the key findings of new research carried out by the European Social Observatory and the University of Victoria on behalf of the ETUI and AK EUROPA. Key issues that will be addressed are: which ‘entry points’ are available, including through the revised Semester, for social stakeholders to ‘have a say’ in the RRF? Could the European Parliament, social partners and civil society seize this opportunity to play a key role in monitoring that the funds from the Recovery Facility are spent well?
