ELISABETH SEVERINO FERNANDES aka. Miss Elli is a committed organizer, activist, director, curator and a spoken word artist. Her experience ranges from talent discovery and development to organising and curating events. This troubador is the founder and driving force behind Mama’s Open Mic and Grab The Mic, two projects that were and remain ‘game-changers’ in the Flemish poetry scene. She is consequently programming with a sensitivity towards intersectionality, meaning she creates spaces where women and people of colour get a prominent place. In times where the overall political stance is anti-immigration, this is in itself her act of rebellion.
