The Israeli government has a widespread and systematic campaign to silence Palestinians, remove social media content critical of Israeli policies, and to smear human rights defenders. Facebook's massive media monopoly is one of Israel's favorite ways to censor and control political debate in Palestine. And Emi Palmor, now on Facebook's Oversight Board, played a key role in implementing Israeli censorship policies during her tenure as the General Director of the Israeli Ministry of Justice.

Under Palmor, the Ministry of Justice established the Israeli Cyber Unit, which targeted Palestinian speech and coerced websites into taking down tens of thousands of pieces of content by Palestinians. Palmor's resume should disqualify her from a role at Facebook supposedly designed to protect free speech.

Tell Facebook that they MUST stop their rampant censorship of Palestinians – and that Emi Palmor has to go.
