They want to let BP & Shell into the UN climate talks ????

Big polluters like BP and Shell are trying to get their logos all over COP26 - and the summit organisers, the UK Government, are seriously considering letting them sponsor the talks!
Next year the global UN climate talks - COP26 - will be held in the United Kingdom. This is a critical moment for global leaders to make decisions to protect our future. But today it was revealed that big polluters like BP and Shell are trying to get their logos all over COP26! What’s worse, the summit organisers, the UK Government, are seriously considering letting them sponsor the climate conference! [2]

There’s not much time left before the sponsors for the climate talks are selected. Together, we need to urgently show the UK government that we refuse to let fossil fuel companies greenwash their reputations by sponsoring the climate talks.

Add your name now to tell the President of COP26 that big polluters have no place at the climate talks!

Fossil fuel companies are desperate to look like they’re part of the solution, and they know how to say the right things to make it seem like they are.

But we know that BP’s so-called ‘net zero’ announcement contains huge loopholes [3] and they continue to be one of the world’s biggest fossil fuel producers. They’ve openly admitted that they want to still be extracting oil and gas in 2050! Shell and Equinor’s climate plans are even weaker.

BP and Shell are responsible for human rights violations and climate impacts across the globe and they have no place in the talks. If a company is currently a major polluter, then it should not be allowed to buy credibility by sponsoring the negotiations.

The UN climate talks will lose all credibility if they are sponsored by any of the companies or banks that are driving the climate crisis.

We only have a short window of time to act. Together we need to urgently call on the UK Government to kick polluters out of the UN climate talks.

Sign the petition now to keep climate criminals like BP and Shell away from the UN climate talks - it only takes 20 seconds!
