European Labour Law Conference
“RE-THINKING LABOUR LAW IN THE DIGITALIZATION ERA”

The European Trade Union Institute (ETUI), the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), the European Lawyers for Workers Network (ELW) and the European Association of Lawyers for Democracy and World Human Rights (ELDH) have joined forces and organized the

European Labour Law Conference on: “Re-thinking Labour Law in the Digitalization Era”
15 and 16 October 2020, @International Trade Union House, Brussels
for details: see attached programme.

The conference was conceived before Covid-19 aggressively turned our lives upside down. It is too early to tell how deeply the pandemic is changing our society, but one thing appears clear: technology will have a more pervasive and essential role for our working and private lives. The topic that we intend to address has thus assumed an even more crucial relevance in these turbulent times.

The idea behind the conference is to constructively engage with the disruptive effect of digitalization on the world of labour. The programme brings together experts from different backgrounds (research, legal practice, trade unions and policymaking) to discuss possible avenues for a future where technological innovation and workers’ rights can truly progress hand in hand.

In line with our optimistic spirit, the event remains planned to take place on the 15 and 16 October 2020 in Brussels, at the International Trade Union House.

However, would the health emergency not allow that, we are also working for transforming our event into a series of webinars.

You can find the draft programme attached. Further details and a link for registration will be published in July.
