This event is dedicated to the topic of the future of work and the impact of digital technology. Two main aspects will be discussed: the ‘platformisation’ of the labour market and the transformative implications of AI for labour relations and job quality. What trends are we seeing emerge, and what challenges? What is the approach of the EU regulator? And what should the regulatory and research agenda be to ensure that workers' dignity is part of the equation when it comes to addressing digital transformation?

Commons laten ons toe om de productie en het beheer van cruciale goederen en diensten in de stad – zoals transport, energie, wonen, cultuur enz.  – collectief toe te eigenen en zo opnieuw in de handen van burgers te leggen. Denk aan een energiecoöperatie, een woongemeenschap, een digitaal platform voor autodelen, een plukboerderij en tal van andere initiatieven. Burgers, middenveld, ondernemers, ambtenaren, politici,… maken zo samen stad. Kunnen ze een antwoord bieden op de huidige uitdagingen inzake wonen, energie, mobiliteit, en voeding?

Op 12 december presenteert Paul de Beer, hoogleraar aan de Universiteit Amsterdam, zijn nieuwe boek: De mythe van de arbeidsmarkt.
