About two weeks ago I wrote to you about eight dock workers in Pakistan who were sacked by transnational giant Hutchison Ports to punish them for their union activity.
And yesterday, we learned that the same company is doing the same thing in Poland. The National Section of Port Workers NSZZ Solidarność has asked us to build international support for justice for one of their organisers, Marek Szymczak, who was sacked for his union activism.

Notice a pattern here? The same company, and the same union-busting activities.
Let us be clear about this. The right to join and form trade unions is a basic human right. Companies like Hutchison Ports need to hear a strong message from trade unionists around the world saying that enough is enough -- no more sackings of union organisers!
Please support Marek and if you've not yet done so, please make sure you also join 6,290 of your fellow trade unionists in sending a message to Hutchison Ports demanding the reinstatement of the Karachi 8.
